It came out of nowhere and, in just over a decade, has gone on to become India’s best-known telecommunications giant, with mobile, landline, broadband and DTH services, among others. Today, when you make a call, surf the internet or click on your TV remote, chances are you’re engaging with Airtel in some way. With operations in a host of countries across Asia and Africa, and a relentless vision to be the best, Airtel dominates the telecommunications space in India, yet won’t settle for success by numbers alone. Set up by brothers Sunil Bharti Mittal and Rajan Bharti Mittal, acknowledged as visionary business leaders second to none in the Indian corporate arena, Airtel is testimony to their pioneering spirit. The company’s ambitious vision: to be the most loved brand by 2015, means putting the customer at the heart of what they do, and building meaningful relationships with their dramatically varied customer base across India. With an iconic jingle created by musical maestro A R Rahman and a memorable series of ad campaigns – including the wildly popular Har Ek Friend Zaroori Hota Hai campaign – Airtel is certainly well on its way to achieving that goal.

Housed in Speyside, Scotland, Chivas has an unparalleled lineage, including, in 1843, a Royal Warrant to supply goods to Queen Victoria. Today, Chivas exemplifies the best of tradition with cutting-edge innovation: the brand recently tied up with Dame Vivienne Westwood to create a stunning limited edition version of Chivas Regal 18-year-old that looks set to become a contemporary classic. But you don’t need to look at Scottish shores to get a taste of the good life – Chivas is arguably India’s favourite Scotch blend, found in every home or restaurant bar worth the name.
