And so it begins!

They say when it rains it pours, and while we’re still hoping for a clear evening at the Grand Hyatt at Bambolim — it’s already pouring guests. At the Tehelka de-briefing this evening, commander and troubleshooter at large, Neena Tejpal informed the team that the numbers at Think had tripled from last year. As general panic amongst shadows and the production team ensued, those amongst us who needed a spot of calm decided to check out the entertainment lined up for this evening — it has now been two hours and various members of the social media team have been walking around in a daze with their earphones on. What happened? Hari and Sukhmani, that’s what.

A trained classical singer from the Rampur Gharana, Sukhmani’s rich and quirky vocals could turn any song into an earworm — but given Hari’s mad production skills and electronic vibe, she doesn’t need to strain those pipes. Proud denizens of ‘Chandi Town’ (also known as Chandigarh), Hari and Sukhmani have been making heads bop since 2008. Since then, they have performed in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Udaipur, Lucknow, Benaras, Goa, Jim Corbett, Manali, Mussouri, Shimla, along with performances in Sydney (Australia), Wellington, Queenstown (New Zealand) and now — at THiNK. Their sumptuous combination of folk song-meets-electronica is the perfect note to begin the year’s biggest event.

Now if only the rain would stop.
